School Clubs
Extra Curricular Clubs Autumn Terms 2009
We are committed to providing as wide a range of after school clubs for your children as possible. We are very grateful to all the staff and friends of school who have agreed to hold after school clubs this term and hope that the range available will provide something of interest.
Thank you all for the feedback you gave with regard to clubs last term. It was very informative and many of your suggestions have been included this term. Poppy Stevens have kindly offered to continue with dance club, chess club has been reinstated, Dr Bailey will giving your children a chance to try out German, Computer explorers are offering an excellent computer course, art clubs are back and there are a wide range of sports available too.
After school clubs will remain at £2 per child per session. Please remember that working parents can claim back up to 80% of their child care costs, including after school clubs. (See www.taxcredits.inlandrevenue.gov.uk ) We do not want payment to be a barrier to any child accessing after school clubs and so if you find that you do not qualify under the above scheme and have trouble meeting the costs of after school clubs, please come and see me in confidence.
If your child would like to attend any of the clubs on offer, please use the attached reply slip by 9.15am on Tuesday 8 th September If a club is over subscribed then names will be ‘picked out the hat’. Priority for some clubs may be given to children who wanted to, but couldn’t attend the club last year. On Friday 11 th children will bring home a note of which clubs they have been accepted for. All clubs are to begin the following week (14 th September) with payment due on that Monday to confirm the places.
Finally if you do know of anyone who would like to run a club in future terms (gymnastics, photography, judo, rugby, gardening . . .) then please let me know so we can add to the variety of opportunity available to the children.
